On 2nd December 2025, a focused and productive meeting was convened in the DC’s Chamber to address the growing issue of siltation affecting the Mawphlang Dam, which is central to the Umiew catchment. The discussion aimed to identify the underlying causes of siltation and explore feasible solutions through multi-departmental coordination.

On 2nd December 2025, the Engineers from Umiew Catchment conducted a field inspection at Mawtharia, Mawrashe, Lyngkien Mylliem, Wahpein, and Kyrdemkhla VPICs. The visit was carried out to assess the site feasibility of the FPA Contest 2 & 3 winning ideas at Lyngkien Mylliem, Mawtharia, Kyrdemkhla, and Wahpein.

On 1st December 2025, the Umiew CMU team successfully conducted FPA Contest 2 and FPA Contest 3 at Mawnianglah VPIC, drawing enthusiastic participation from community members across all age groups.

The contests served as an important platform for the community—men, women, and youth—to share innovative ideas focused on:Building efficient and sustainable livelihoods, and Protecting and conserving vital soil and water resources.

On 1st December 2025, the Umiew CMU team conducted the FPA Contest 2 and 3 at Madan Ingsylem village under Mylliem Block. A total of 15 participants took part in FPA Contest 2 and 11 participants in FPA Contest 3. The programme witnessed active participation and inclusive engagement, reflecting the community’s interest in sustainable development and environmental conservation.

On 6 December, the Engineering team conducted a field visit to Lumkyntung and Lyngkien Mylliem VPICs. The visit focused on two key objectives: Initiating the implementation of FPA2 (Mushroom Cultivation) at Lumkyntung VPIC. Assessing the site feasibility for FPA3 at Lyngkien Mylliem.

On the 10th of December, the Engineers from CMU visited Mawblah VPIC to monitor the ongoing construction of the FPA3 winning idea.

On the 8th Dec 2025, the Engineering team visited Lyngkynshieh VPIC to monitor the construction progress of the FPA3 winning idea and to discuss estimates and drawings with VPIC members to ensure smooth implementation. The team also visited Mawjrong VPIC to initiate the implementation of FPA3 and carry out site verification for the FPA2 winning idea.

On 2nd December 2025, the Umiew CMU team conducted FPA Contest 2 and FPA Contest 3 and the Storytelling contests of FPA1 at POMLAKRAI LIEWLONG Village, Mylliem Block. The contests witnessed active and inclusive participation, with 7 participants in FPA Contest 2 and 9 participants in FPA Contest 3, AND 5 participants in Storytelling, reflecting strong community engagement toward sustainable development and environmental protection.

On 10 December 2025, Engineers from Ganol Catchment Unit conducted a field visit to Sangkarigre, Mukdangra, and Dopatchigre to monitor the progress of ongoing works in these villages.  Also visited Chisregre to carry out necessary measurements ahead of the implementation of the proposed work.

On the 10th dec 2025 , The Ganol-CMU conducted FPA-2 and FPA-3 at Waram Songma under Rongram Block, bringing the community together to share innovative ideas for village development. A total of 24 participants attended, with 20 contestants (10 each for FPA-2 and FPA-3).
